Someone please tell me

I do not have the time, patience or inclination to read lengthy newspaper articles nor sit glued to news channels, so I may not know inctricate details of the proceedings of the case. But someone please tell me.. Why are we just not hanging Kasab? It has been over a year since the 26/11 carnage, there is every proof available that Kasab is guilty... then why discuss a details of a million charges one by one, even when he has pretty much pleaded guilty to his crimes? Seriously why is this trial taking forever, why are funds being spent on keeping him in custody, whay the hell are the authorities dilly-dallying? IS there any doubt he is a monster who killed so many people? Havent they gotten out enough from him? Whats the point in dragging this forever? Enough words. Time for some action now. Cmon lets hang him and get over with this finally.

Agreed.

The reason probably cited by the authorities is that we are a democracy and he deserves a fair trial. Agreed with that too. But the time this case has eaten up cant be justified... at all.

finally it seems you have gotten a faint idea about Indian law .. to be very frank, the chances of India hanging Kasab is very slim and even if it happens its gonna be after more 5 to 10 years :)

While I don't agree that people found guilty of crimes should be killed, I do think the "business of the law" is preposterous. It just makes money for lawyers and does very little for the law-abiding citizens, who must pay. I can't see why, with multiple charges, they shouldn't just start with the most heinous and not bother with the rest if the person is guilty! And make it short- put the best evidence first and have judges and jury take the most probable verdict, not have to agree completely. Then the law courts would move more quickly on matters affecting the livelihood of ordinary people- for whom the laws were made. [I'm Australian and our so-called justice system is full of big fat rich people while the workers still have trouble feeding their families!]
